INDONESIA - UNITED STATES AS A COOPERATION OF HANDLING COVID-19

PRESIDENT Joko Widodo held a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Friday (24/4) from the Bogor Presidential Palace. During the discussion, the two heads of state exchanged ideas regarding the handling of the corona virus outbreak or covid-19. President Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the cooperation of the Indonesian government and the United States government in the efforts to deal with Co-19.



The two Presidents also exchanged ideas about efforts to overcome the shortage of medical devices and protection devices for medical personnel, such as ventilators, PPE and masks, as experienced by all countries.




Regarding the ventilator, President Trump explained the effort to make a ventilator in his country and said he would send it to Indonesia when it was ready. This collaboration will be followed up by teams from each country. "Indonesia is an important country for the US. We must continue to enhance cooperation between the two countries," President Trump said as quoted by the Indonesian Presidential Secretariat, Saturday (25/4).



In the discussion, the two leaders of the country also shared their grief to each of their citizens who were victims of death due to co-19. In addition, President Jokowi and President Trump also agreed to strengthen partnerships in trade and economics after a period of post-covid-19 economic recovery.
